Fernwasserversorgung Oberfranken (FWO, water provider): Drosendorf pumping station is equipped for the future

The Fernwasserversorgung Oberfranken (FWO) is a local authority association and the largest water provider in Upper Franconia. It supplies around 20% of Upper Franconian drinking water to cities and communities. The so-called Scheßlitzer Ast has been working at its capacity limit in recent years, which made it necessary to renew the technical systems in the Drosendorf pumping station in order to increase the production capacity.

GAUFF Engineering successfully implemented this measure with a construction volume of around 1 million euros from planning to construction management on behalf of the FWO. In October 2016 we started with the redesign and subsequent renewal of the complete electrical, pipeline and machine technology systems. The entire renovation had to be carried out during operation, which made the work from planning to execution a particular challenge. Thanks to the combined competence of the operating staff of the FWO and our engineers, the construction work was carried out without any qualitative or quantitative restrictions for the connected consumers.

Since the end of 2019, the refurbished Drosendorf pumping station has been in use with the latest technology and higher production capacity and is equipped for the future. GAUFF Engineering is already working for the FWO on the renewal of further constructions in the Scheßlitzer Ast.
