New Assignments for Property Related Sanitation Concepts (LAK)

The Amberg-Sulzbach State Construction Authority has charged GAUFF Engineering to prepare "property related sanitation concepts (LAK)" for two different areas. The areas to be examined are situated in the zone of the military training ground Grafenwöhr in the district Neustadt an der Waldnaab (Oberpfalz) in Bavaria.

Covering an area of 226 km², Grafenwöhr military training ground is one of the biggest in Europe. It is used by units of the United States Army Europe (USAREUR), the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), the German Federal Armed Forces and other NATO-ground forces and partner nations. With staff of about 3,000 local employees, the military training ground is a significant economic factor and one of the most important employers in the region.

The assigned scope of the project includes the US-properties "Camp Normandy" covering an area of 85 ha and "Rose Barracks" in the area of the southern camp Vilseck, with a surface of 25 ha. The inventory and condition assessment of the existing sewer systems in the areas to be examined, effected according to the structural and hydraulic points of view, are important service contents of the LAK.

In addition to the main channels all ground and connection lines (building connections) situated in the soil are included in the examinations. As a basis for the structural condition assessment, the sewer systems will be subject to a detailed video inspection. The required call for tenders concerning the inspection and cleaning work as well as the supervision of these works are also part of our services.

The development of a property related sanitation means the presence of an overall assessment of the current state of the drainage network of the examined properties. On this basis, further steps to implement the necessary structural rehabilitation measures for the sewage systems will be planned.

The studies will be executed and completed until mid 2016.
