New major projects in Côte d'Ivoire and the DR Congo - GAUFF Engineering is awarded orders for rural electrification in Africa

As part of the German-African Energy Forum and the subsequent Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD), GAUFF Engineering has been awarded two major rural electrification projects in Africa, underlining the relevance of sustainable energy infrastructure for the continent's economic development.

On the 17th of March 2025, Cyprien Musimar Ndele, Managing Director of the Agence Nationale de l'Électrification et des Services Énergétiques en Milieux Rural et Périurbain (ANSER), signed a project contract for the electrification of rural and peri-urban regions in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project comprises the planning, supply and construction of around 230 photovoltaic systems for off-grid power supply to remote villages as well as the construction of small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 4 MW. GAUFF Engineering is responsible for the implementation in the frame of its proven EPPM model (Engineering, Procurement, Project Management).

The next major EPPM order followed just two days later: on the 19th of March 2025, the Direction Générale de l'Énergie (DGE) commissioned GAUFF Engineering to electrify 400 rural settlements on behalf of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. The contract was signed by DGE Managing Director Ehouman Narcisse Kalifa. The intention is to install photovoltaic systems with outputs of between 15 kWp and 60 kWp - spread across the entire national territory.

Both contracts were signed on behalf of GAUFF Engineering by Romain Charlot, Head of the Francophone Africa division.

Conceptually, the projects are based on the well-advanced ASER 300 project in Senegal, which also aims to achieve a decentralised, sustainable energy supply. Each project will run for four years.

With a volume of 150 million euros each, the total volume of the two EPPM projects amounts to 300 million euros - a further milestone and success in the international business activities of our company and an expression of confidence in the performance of GAUFF Engineering.

We are looking forward to these ambitious projects and their contribution to improving living conditions and economic prospects in the respective regions.
