Nuremberg is getting greener - new tree grates for the city
GAUFF Engineering is supporting the city of Nuremberg in the creation of new tree locations throughout the city. These will serve as rainwater reservoirs, provide cooling against heat islands and promote biodiversity. The tree grates are not only a tangible benefit for local residents, but also relieve the strain on the city's sewer network during heavy rainfall events.
In a first step, an area of around 670 square metres will be unsealed in Nuremberg's South City district and in the Moorenbrunn district so that a total of 30 new trees can be planted.
To this end, the City of Nuremberg has commissioned us with the supervision of the construction for the edification of the tree locations. The planning and tendering of the construction work is being carried out by the City of Nuremberg.
