Background
Fernwasserversorgung Oberfranken (FWO) is a municipal association responsible for distributing around 20 percent of Upper Franconia's drinking water. In order to continue to be able to supply customers reliably in the future, FWO is continuously optimising the overall system in its area of operation. After more than 35 years of operation, modernisation measures and adjustments to the supply capacity were also necessary at the Scheßlitz branch to meet the increased water demand of consumers.
Project
GAUFF Engineering was commissioned by FWO to plan and supervise the renewal of the Giechburg pumping station/elevated tank. The planning, tendering and structural implementation of the measures were carried out in various construction phases.
As part of the rehabilitation, the piping, pumps and electrical engineering of the Giechburg pumping station/elevated tank near Scheßlitz were renewed and the plant's pumping capacity increased. The structural adjustments to the building required for the rehabilitation were also carried out.
