Ground-breaking ceremony for the TechnologyCampus in Nuremberg

In the presence of the Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder and the Bavarian Minister of Science, Markus Blume, the foundation stone for the Nuremberg TechnologyCampus was laid on March 25, 2022 on the former AEG site. By 2024, a 6,600 square meter research building will be built there as an interdisciplinary center for applied research and development, innovation and transfer.

"Industry turns into innovation: the start of the new research building for Nuremberg’s Technical University on the AEG site. This is structural change at its best. With the High-Tech Agenda, Bavaria is investing 3.5 billion euros in education and technology” Prime Minister Markus Söder emphasized during his ceremonial address.

GAUFF Engineering plans the traffic facilities as well as the sewage disposal and rainwater treatment in the area of the entire northern area of Auf AEG, the former industrial site of AEG, where the TechnologyCampus is also being built. Furthermore, the coordination of the network for the necessary supply routes for medium voltage, low voltage, drinking water and local heating as well as for the relocation of the existing drinking water and high-pressure gas lines will be provided by GAUFF Engineering.

The construction work for the drainage channels will begin in early 2024. The expansion of the traffic facilities will take place in sections, in line with the completion of the building shells of the structures that are to be erected, starting in 2025.

The TechnologyCampus of the TU Nuremberg will be provisionally developed as an early construction measure and finally integrated into the overall infrastructural concept of the AEG northern area.
